Molecular Disco Ball

Molecular Disco Ball 8 Bit Array and Molecular Disco Balls

These pieces are truncated icosahedrons just like Buckminster Fullerenes. They have Tetris block-shaped mirror extensions and are reminiscent of the retro-futurist bubble houses of the 1950s. They also look strangely like viruses. They interact with their environment reflecting light. The dancing lights look a little like fleets of ships invading but at the same time create a celebratory mood. Evolutionary processes can be rewarding but also a struggle for the survival of the fittest. The pieces close to the "8 Bit Array" look like models for study. There is a reference to elemental chemicals found in primordial soup. The shadows created by these disco balls are ominous and have an unearthly feel.
